Guidelines for Authors


Welcome to Corporum: Journal of Linguistics. The editors welcome submissions of new and original articles, research papers and review reports in English language that have not been submitted for evaluation in any other journal. Scholars can email their manuscripts in MS-Word format at or through file attachment.

Specification for Manuscripts

  1. Write title on first page followed by the name of authors and affiliations

  2. Write abstract (Briefly cover overview of the study, aim of the study, rationale of the study, methodology, findings and results/recommendations) followed by five keywords (in alphabetical order).

  3. Abbreviations and acronyms should be mentioned clearly for the understanding of the readers.

  4. Pages should be numbered clearly and started after the first page.

  5. Words in other languages (like Indian, French, Greek) should be italicized or boldface, but not underlined.

  6. Manuscripts should be typed on 81/2 x 11-inch white paper, upper and lower case, double spaced, with 1-inch margins on all sides. The type size should be 12 point. Subheads should be at reasonable intervals to break the monotony or lengthy text. Words to be set in italics should be set in italics, not underlined.

  7. Use APA 6th edition for in-text citation and referencing.

  8. Follow APA 6th edition for writing headings and subheadings with appropriate numbers.

  9. The corresponding author is advised to submit email address, contact number and complete address of the institute.

Style & Format

  1. Article should be well organized and developed thematically. Spellings, punctuation, capitalizations and grammar should be accurate.

  2. The authors are responsible for the accuracy (citations) of references.

  3. Reference list should contain all the references cited in the text.

  4. Tables and figures should be presented clearly and provide all the relevant data. These should be embedded in the text. The details should not be embedded in the tables. Tables should be typeset.

  5. Figures should be in high resolution and in printable version.

Tables, Figures, and Illustrations

Charts, figures or tables are considered as a powerful supplement in order to support writer’s point of view. These items are used to simplify the text.

Figure, Graph and Table should have:

  1. A number following the order in which it appears in the text. For example chart 1, chart 2, figure 1, figure 2, table 1, table 2.

  2. Captions must be meaningful so that a reader could understand easily the context of the data.

  3. Figures should be readable.

  4. The title should be located below figures and charts and above tables.

  5. It must have a reference if it is produced by someone else.

Professional Ethics

  1. References and quotations must have correct source.

  2. Data/information should be reported accurately.

  3. It is necessary to take permission from publisher.

  4. There is no acceptance of plagiarised document.

  5. Manuscript submitted to CJCL should not already be submitted to any other research journal

Review Process

  1. After an initial editorial review, articles will be sent to international referees who have expertise in the subject (for blind review).

  2. Authors/contributors will be informed about comments of the referees and will be required to revise the article accordingly, if required.

Acceptance for Publications

  1. Manuscripts are considered to be original material which is produced by writer and it must not be a copied material.

  2. Furthermore, the article accepted for corpus cannot be published in any other journal.

Copyright is conferred in Air University, Islamabad. Article could not be reproduced without the written permission of the Editors.
